- Prevention of caries in adults and children as part of a general control program.
- Prevention:
. recurrent (or marginal) caries,
. the evolution of the carious process,
. decalcification phenomena of the points of contact with the orthodontic appliances,
. cavities of the wells and furrows (occlusals),
- Treatment of dentinal hypersensitivity, as part of a treatment program including the daily use of a suitable toothpaste.

Dosage DURAPHAT 50 mg / mL Dental suspension Box of 1 tube of 10 ml

- DURAPHAT 50 mg / ml, dental suspension should be applied by a dental professional.
- Before applying DURAPHAT 50 mg / ml, dental suspension, remove excess plaque and dry the tooth. DURAPHAT 50 mg / ml, dental suspension should be applied in a thin layer at the most affected areas of the dentition using a brush, a probe or a buffer.
- Recommended dose for each application:
. For milk teeth: up to 0.25 ml (= 5.65 mg of fluorine),
. For mixed dentition: up to 0.40 ml (= 9.04 mg of fluorine),
. For permanent dentition: up to 0.75 ml (= 16.95 mg fluorine).
- As part of caries prevention, the application is usually renewed every 6 months, but it is possible to make more frequent applications (every 3 months).
- As part of the treatment of dentinal hypersensitivity, 2 to 3 applications must be performed in a few days.
- The patient should not brush or chew food for 4 hours after application.
- Method of administration: dental route.

Against indications

This product should not be used in the following cases:
- Hypersensitivity to rosin and / or any of the components.
- ulcerative gingivitis.
- Stomatitis.
- Bronchial asthma.
Pregnancy and lactation: DURAPHAT 50 mg / ml, dental suspension containing 33.8% ethanol (each dose containing 0.2 g of alcohol), its use is not recommended during the period of pregnancy or lactation.

Duraphat side effects

- Gastrointestinal disorders:
Very rare (<1/10000) : stomatitis, ulcerative gingivitis, nausea and edema of the oral mucosa can occur in sensitive (allergic) subjects - if necessary, the dental suspension layer can be easily removed by brushing and rinsing.
- Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders:
Very rare (<1/10000) : irritation in sensitive subjects, Quincke's edema.
- Respiratory, thoracic and mediastinal disorders:
Very rare / isolated case (<1/10000) : asthma.
