Hemolytic anemia: Symptoms

The symptoms resulting from hemolytic anemia are common to all anemias irrespective of their origin.

They are more or less intense depending on the speed of installation of this anemia: the higher the anemia is acute the more signs are marked because the body does not have time to adapt.

The symptoms are mainly due to lack of tissue oxygenation:

  • shortness of breath,
  • Tired,
  • Aches, muscle weakness,
  • Sometimes headaches, dizziness,
  • palpitations,
  • Excessive pallor.

In case of haemolytic anemia, the destruction of red blood cells is responsible for the release into the blood of hemoglobin which by destroying itself is transformed into bilirubin. The accumulation of bilirubin is responsible for jaundice (or jaundice).

The destroyed red blood cells accumulate in the spleen, which then increases in volume.

The appearance of signs of anemia should lead to a quick consultation so that the doctor examines the spleen and seeks an increase in its volume.

The doctor is looking for possible jaundice and will certainly prescribe additional tests, starting with a blood test. We will look for very specific data, starting with the blood count ... But the diagnosis will be oriented according to certain clinical parameters (age, intoxication, burn, infection).

Tuberculosis: treatments

Tuberculosis is a disease that can be treated and cured. Treatments are mainly based on therapeutic education and prescription of 4 antibiotics for 6 months. The treatment is restrictive, and carries risks of side effects, especially in the liver. Patients should be isolated while the sputum sterilizes (without the presence of bacteria), normally between 10 and 15 days, if the treatment is effective and taken correctly
